Scenes from Kori Municipal Elementary School, Hirakata City 2 (Report from Hiraya san)

Entries have been posted on the elementary school’s website under Kori Municipal Elementary School | School Diary.
They include an explanation given after the opening ceremony on the 7th, lively scenes from the 8th, and coverage of the event held on the 11th.
On the 11th, a community event featuring Tondo-yaki was held, and the Wolf Bench also took part.
Due to strong winds, the lighting of the Tondo fire was cancelled; however, the revival of the traditional mochi-pounding event—the first since the COVID-19 pandemic—along with the presence of the Wolf Bench, made the day lively and festive.

In the background, a jump rope competition is being held.

They are full of curiosity about the Wolf Bench.

Many of the children were experiencing mochi pounding for the first time.

The next update will likely be from the Urikoyama Opening on February 14, followed by the departure to Ikaga Elementary School on the 16th.
Thank you, and best regards.

After the opening ceremony, Hiratani introduced the Wolf Bench Four Seasons.
During the ceremony, everyone seemed a little restless with anticipation.

After the ceremony, the teachers moved together to the courtyard.
The teachers were all smiles as well.

The Wolf Bench will spend time with the students until February 16.
On January 11, it will be moved to the schoolyard for the Tondo Festival, where it will interact with members of the local community.
On February 14, during the opening of Mount Uriko, students will clean the area, enjoy roasted sweet potatoes, and pray together for safety throughout the year.
